How to save money buying players in FUT

16 Oct

The best players in the game can be very expensive but there are a couple of ways to save some money when it comes to buying them from auctions. If you’re not careful you could spend a lot more than you need to on that star player you need, but hopefully by following these tips, you can save a penny or two.

  • Trying bidding rather than buying now: Bidding is usually always cheaper since if the price rises up to the buy now price that the player is going for, people would rather save some hassle and just get him straight away. Be patient and stick in there, it’s worth saving even just 200 coins. With that you can get yourself another contract.
  • Look for players who are low on contract: You can look at a players contracts remaining in the auction house by pushing the right stick left. If you don’t mind spending the extra coins on some contracts for a player, you can save a bit of money on actually buying the player.
  • Look for the player you want outside your formation: this applies more to finding gold players but If your formation is not 4-4-2, 4-1-2-1-2, 4-4-1-1, 4-3-3 or 4-2-2-2 then you’re in luck. My friends play in these formations and it costs them up 6000 coins to change a players formation however I play in 5-2-1-2 and a formation card costs me 200 coins so I can afford to get a player not in my formation. So if you’re like me and you have an uncommon formation, try looking for the player you want in any formation rather than just your own, you could grab a bargain.

    Ménez Bid

Here you can see I’ve brought Ménez for 1000 coins when he’s usually 5000+ coins. I saved money because I brought him as a card not in my formation.

  • Try buying at unsociable times: Try buying players late at night or early in the morning if you can. Players do sell cheaper and you can save yourself some money since at that time, players are more likely just looking for a quick sell. You don’t even have to be on your Xbox either, there is a Fifa Ultimate Team Web App you can log into on your laptop or there’s a new EA Sports Football Club iPhone app you can download now to buy players from either in bed or on the move as opposed to having to be sat in your living room.

Hopefully these buying tips will save you some money on that star player you want. Happy buying!
